Carolyn Goodman was an amazing person. She was one of my heroes. I first heard about her on the NPR show. I listened to NPR after Killen's arrest. I was amazed by Carolyn's strength 40 years after Andrew Goodman, James Chaney, and Michael Schwerner were murdered. I still remember the verdict. I silently prayed for Andrew, James and Michael after the verdicts. I was happy when Killen was sentenced to 60 years in prison. I hope he lives 15 years and that he remembers the pain that he brought to three families.

Thanks to both of you. She was an amazing person and to have her as a mom must have been remaekable. Imagine her as your moral role model - wow!

Thank you very much for this article. I join you in your honoring of the civil rights champions of the past and present.
They are real heros and models inspiring us to continue to work to dismantle racism and all other forms of oppression even in the last quarter of our lives.
