You're not kidding about the Kranzberg cheesecake, that's for sure! It's magnificent!
To say nothing of the company... What a good observation though - it's nice to have them pop up one at a time when you can really appreciate them, no?

Hey Cindy - Why do you think that Shavuot is my favorite holiday? It has nothing to do with cheesecakes or parties, but simply because it's the only one that's out there all by itself - no other holidays close by in either direction - and with no massive preparation cleaning, building, etc) involved. You can just relax and enjoy the holiday for what it is -a time to get together with friends and family and to refresh spiritually. And, of course, to eat some great Kranzberg cheesecake!

Thanks for saying this Jane. I was so guilty about feeling this way - agonized about whether to post etc. I let it set for so long it was almost too old because it felt vaguely disloyal. I'm not sure you realize how great a little support feels. I wish you a healthy and peaceful year.

I agree. Sukkot should be moved to, um, a couple of days before Halloween, maybe. The buildup to and through the High Holydays takes all my attention and emotion. When those gates close on YK, I want them to stay closed until I get my breath back.
